In the spirit of its creator, designer and builder G\u00fcnther Domenig, the architecture experienced here aims to serve as a source of inspiration, to stimulate discourse and dialogue and encourage creative curiosity. As opposed to being a backdrop, the diversity of the form built here opens up a performative experience of architecture in dialogue with art, science and business. This then becomes tangible in the various events and projects. The <strong>DOMENIG STEINHAUS<\/strong> sees itself as an impulse &#8211; cast in physical form &#8211; to think across boundaries and to realise these in interaction with the house.<\/p>\n<p>Three main focuses set the <strong>DOMENIG STEINHAUS<\/strong> programme with a strong artistic profile:<\/p>\n\t<a href=\"#Performances\">DOMENIG STEINHAUS PERFORMANCES<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#Werkstaetten\">DOMENIG STEINHAUS WORKSHOPS<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#Vermittlung\">DOMENIG STEINHAUS WORKSHOPS<\/a>\n\t\u00bb The subjective dimensions of site.<br \/>\nThe site as memory. The site as self-representation. \u00ab\n\t<p>G\u00fcnther Domenig<\/p>\n\t<h2>Domenig Steinhaus Performances:<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>STEINHAUS<\/strong> aims to be a multidimensional space for experimental architecture and art, acting both in parallel and together. In order to allow the house to achieve its full meaning and conceptual orientation in the spirit of the architect and builder G\u00fcnther Domenig, a profile and a clearly defined focus are called for, also from an artistic perspective &#8211; the <strong>DOMENIG STEINHAUS<\/strong> is to be a centre for performance art.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\">read more<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Architecture serves as the medium here for an artistic process that explores current social issues, opening up new perspectives and discursivity within the stimulating and inspiring setting of the DOMENIG STEINHAUS. Like Domenig&#8217;s architecture, performance art breaks out of previously established forms. This environment lends itself to researching, experimenting and playing with space, directly creating a laboratory and stage in one for performance artists.<\/p>\n<p>From 2016 to 2019, the durch:formen association impressively demonstrated the need for this art form, attracting a constantly growing number of visitors and the interest of international artists in the DOMENIG STEINHAUS as a site for performance. Since 2021, the in-house production &#8220;Under de-Construction&#8221; has been curated by cultural worker, curator, performer and cultural journalist Tina Perisutti. Based on these experiences, performance art will continue at the DOMENIG STEINHAUS and is set to include both Austrian and international collaborations.<\/p>\n<strong>\u201eUnder de-Construction&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u201eThe title of the performance series &#8220;Under de-Construction&#8221; produces a conceptual play on the state of an ongoing construction site (Under Construction), as well as a link to deconstruction in the philosophical sense. The situation of a construction site constantly gives rise to new possibilities or suggested solutions, whereas deconstruction deals conceptually with the dissolution of traditional power relations and the attempt at a new reading of existing relations. The polymorphous outer shell and the complex spatial concept make for an inspiring environment. Universities and colleges of architecture, design and art are invited to develop experimental workshop programmes and stage them in the <strong>DOMENIG STEINHAUS<\/strong> from May to October. The location directly on the lake with a garden and its own lake access makes it a unique venue for the &#8220;Summer School&#8221; format from all over the world for the holiday periods from July to September.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\">read more<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<strong>Period:<\/strong>\u00a0From April to November on request (min. 3 and max. 14 days possible).<br \/>\n<strong>Facilities:\u00a0<\/strong>Open seminar rooms on 4 levels, cinema room, tea kitchen, garden with private lake access.<br \/>\n<strong>Costs:\u00a0<\/strong>The STEINHAUS G\u00fcnther Domenig Private Foundation provides the listed STEINHAUS free of charge. They are aimed at architects, landscape architects, spatial planners, designers, artists, photographers, filmmakers, writers, researchers and all those interested in examining landscape, society, existing buildings, and also feminism, diversity, community and other important issues in the context of climate change. Invited experts will offer inspiration and encourage transdisciplinary boundary-crossing, opening up new perspectives in the discursive and inspiring environment of the STEINHAUS.<\/p>\n<p>The range of workshops for boundary-crossers takes place during opening hours from May to October. Workshops will only go ahead if enough participants are registered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current range of workshops:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.domenigsteinhaus.at\/en\/program\/\">see programme calendar<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshop language:<\/strong> German \/ English<\/p>\n<p><strong>Facilities:<\/strong> The STEINHAUS has open seminar rooms on 4 levels, 1 small cinema room, 1 tea kitchen as well as the garden with pavilion and its own lake access.<\/p>\n<strong>How to get here:<\/strong> On the S 2 commuter train (Villach Hbf &#8211; St. Veit\/Glan), the Steindorf\/Ossiacher See station is max. 10 minutes&#8217; walk.<br \/>\nThe STEINHAUS is located directly on the Ossiacher See cycle path, on the Bleist\u00e4tter Moor Slow Trail and on the Alpe Adria Trail (www.alpe-adria-trail.com).\n<p><strong>Accommodation:<\/strong> A wide range of accommodation and campsites in the resort of Lake Ossiach are within walking distance or can be reached along the lake cycle path and by train.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost of participation:<\/strong> approx. 200 euros, depending on the workshop. Included is the use of the STEINHAUS facilities and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, coffee, tea. And that they themselves are also<br \/>\ninfluenced so that they become more interested in the new than in the<br \/>\nrepetition of knowledge, and a little as a communication of this way of working by not setting any boundaries. \u00ab\n\t<p>G\u00fcnther Domenig (DVD \u201eDreaming in Reality&#8221; 2004)<\/p>\n\t<h2>Steinhaus G\u00fcnther Domenig Private Foundation:<\/h2>\n<p>In 2008, G\u00fcnther Domenig incorporated the STEINHAUS including its artistic, legal and material heritage, such as drawings, plans, models, photos and publications, into the foundation and appointed the Province of Carinthia as its beneficiary. The purpose of the foundation is to promote architecture in connection with all other creative artistic, cultural and scientific disciplines.
